  3. 2 tbsps besan
  4. 2 tbsps millet flour

  7. 1 tsp coriander powder
  8. 2 tsps ginger paste
  9. To taste, salt
  10. To taste, chilli powder
  11. To taste, finely chopped green chillies
  12. 1/4 tsp sugar
  13. 1 pinch soda bicarbonate
  14. 2 tsps lemon juice
  15. For the gravy:
  16. 4 cups water
  17. 3/4 cup yogurt
  18. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  19. 1 tsp coriander powder
  20. 1 tsp cumin powder
  21. 1 tsp ginger paste
  22. To taste, salt
  23. To taste, red chilli powder
  24. To taste, finely chopped green chillies
  25. 1/2 finely chopped onion
  26. 1 clove garlic minced
  27. A few curry leaves
  28. 2 tbsps oil
  29. 1 pinch asafoetida
  30. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  31. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  32. A few fenugreek seeds
  33. A few sprigs of fresh coriander leaves finely chopped

Instructions to make to make Rasiya Muthiya

  1. For the muthiyas/dumplings: Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix to form a dough. You won't need any water, as the ingredients are moist enough to bind. Form oval shaped balls from the dough and keep them aside.
  2. In a bowl, add yogurt, tumeric powder, salt, chill powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix it well. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a big pan over medium heat.
  4. Add mustard seeds, once they crackle, add fenugreek seeds and then cumin seeds.
  5. Then add asafoetida, green chillies and curry leaves.
  6. Then sauté onion and add garlic and ginger. Cook till the onion is translucent. Add water and bring it to boil.
  7. Add the muthiyas/dumplings to it, one by one. And the the water keep boiling. Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  8. Then add the yogurt mixture and stir well.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes stirring it now and then to ensure that the yogurt doesn't curdle.
  10. Take the pan off the heat and the rasiya muthiya is ready, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
