  16. 6 tablespoons cooking oil
  17. 1/2 teaspoon red food color dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  18. 1/2 teaspoon yellow food color dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  19. Whole spices-2 cardamom pods, 2 pieces cinnamon, 2 cloves(optional)

Instructions to make to make Chicken Biryani

  1. In a hot pan, mix your soaked and drained rice with cooking oil to coat every grain(use enough oil, do not skimp)
  2. Add in your cold water and salt
  3. Add in your whole spices if you so wish for the flavour
  4. Cover and let cook.
  5. As your rice is nearly cooked(when it is just about to dry up), sprinkle the 2 food colors over your rice with a spoon, and in a pattern of your choice. Do not mix yet
  6. Let it cook slowly with the steam.
  7. Once fully cooked, you can now mix in with a spoon to blend the 3 colour(white,red and yellow).
  8. Serve with your chicken that is prepared as follows;
  9. For the chicken
    In a hot pan, fry your onions until very golden brown
  10. Add in your garlic ginger paste
  11. Add in your blended tomatoes
  12. Add in your masala, turmeric, curry powder and dhanya jeera
  13. Add in your salt and tomato paste
  14. Mix in your chicken pieces
  15. Now add the yoghurt or mala.
  16. Let simmer on low heat until ready. Keep stirring as necessary,
  17. Serve with your rice prepared above and enjoy!
